Duckhams Oils Confirmed as Official Partner of WSR

Duckhams Oils has been confirmed as Official Oil Partner of West Surrey Racing for the 2026 British Touring Car Championship, marking one of the brand's most significant motorsport tie-ups in years. The technical partnership was brokered by GMP Sports, bringing together two names with long histories in British motorsport.

Duckhams' motorsport links stretch back more than 125 years, taking in a land-speed record set in 1948 and decades of involvement across Formula 1, BTCC, British GT and Formula Ford, with past associations including figures such as Colin Chapman, Ayrton Senna, James Hunt and John Surtees, through to more recent champions including Shaun Balfe, Adam Smalley and Daryl De Leon. WSR, for its part, has been fielding competitive cars in the BTCC since 1996 and is the most successful team in the championship's history.

Under the deal, Duckhams lubricants will run in WSR's BMW 330i M Sport cars for the full 2026 season, appearing on the cars of Daryl De Leon, the reigning Jack Sears Trophy champion, and Charles Rainford, who took his first BTCC race win on only his second weekend in the series the previous year. The partnership also gives Duckhams garage branding, a digital presence with the team, and co-branded activation rights.

David McLean, Duckhams' Chief Marketing Officer, said the deal brings the brand "back to where it belongs: in a race car, on a British circuit, with a team that knows how to win," adding that WSR "run a tight, professional operation." WSR founder and team principal Dick Bennetts said Duckhams "has been part of British motorsport for longer than most people in the paddock have been alive," and that the team "knows the history, trusts the product, and believes that having Duckhams in the cars is the right fit."

The partnership was announced shortly after the 2026 BTCC season got under way at Donington Park in April under revised technical regulations, with De Leon and Rainford carrying the Duckhams name across the full calendar for what both parties expect to be a closely fought season.
