Accessibility Statement

Alexander Duckham & Co. Limited is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people who use assistive technology.

This statement was prepared on 27 August 2026 and reflects the site as it stands on that date. It applies to duckhams.com.

1. How accessible this website is

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at Level AA.

This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Partially conformant means most of the standard is met, but some parts are not yet. The known exceptions are listed in section 3.

2. What we have done

• pages are built with semantic HTML, so headings, lists, landmarks and tables convey structure to a screen reader rather than only appearing visually
• the site can be operated with a keyboard, and focus is visible as you move through it
• form fields carry labels, errors are announced rather than only shown in colour, and the enquiry forms can be completed without a mouse
• images carry alternative text, and images that are purely decorative are marked so assistive technology skips them
• animation and scroll effects respect the reduced-motion setting in your operating system, so movement stops if you have asked for that
• the layout reflows for small screens and remains usable when text is enlarged
• colour is not used as the only way of conveying meaning, and text meets the contrast requirement against its background
• the stockist finder offers a list of every stockist alongside the map, so the same information is available without using an interactive map

3. Known limitations

We are aware of the following:

• Technical data sheets and safety data sheets are supplied as documents to download, and these may not work well with a screen reader. If you need the information from one in a different format, ask us and we will provide it.

4. How we test

Every change to this website is checked automatically before it goes live, and the change is blocked if the accessibility score falls below the threshold we have set.

Automated checks do not find everything, so we also test by hand: navigating the main journeys using only a keyboard, and checking them with a screen reader.

5. Reporting a problem

If you find something you cannot use, or you need information in a different format, please tell us.

• the address of the page
• what you were trying to do, and what happened
• the device, browser and any assistive technology you were using
• the format you need, if you are asking for an alternative

We aim to respond within five working days. If you ask for information in an alternative format, we will tell you when to expect it.

6. If you are not satisfied

If you contact us and are not happy with our response, please say so and we will look at it again. Service providers in the United Kingdom have a duty under the Equality Act 2010 to make reasonable adjustments for disabled people, and if you believe we have not met that duty you can raise it with the Equality Advisory and Support Service.

7. Improving this website

We review this statement when the site changes materially, and at least once a year. The date at the top shows when it was last reviewed.
