New Chief Marketing Officer Appointed as Duckhams Oils Ramps Up Investment

David McLean has been appointed Chief Marketing Officer at Duckhams Oils, bringing more than 30 years of commercial experience across UK and global markets to the 126-year-old lubricants brand. McLean spent nine years at Castrol in commercial and consumer insight roles, giving him a close understanding of the UK and global automotive aftermarket before joining Duckhams.
Mike Bewsey, Duckhams' CEO, said: "I am delighted to welcome David to our growing team. During his career, David has worked with many high-profile global brands, including BP, Britvic, Heinz, and Miele, delivering double-digit growth and profitability while reducing SKU complexity and driving market expansion." Bewsey added that McLean's expertise spanning FMCG, category management and consumer proposition development meant he was confident McLean "will play a pivotal role in delivering our ambitious growth strategy."
The appointment builds on the direct-to-market strategy Duckhams unveiled for the UK and Ireland earlier in 2025, backed by investment from Zuber Issa CBE, as the brand rolls out new distributor partnerships with workshops and retailers. McLean's arrival came shortly before Duckhams' rollout to EG On The Move forecourts and its appearance at Screwfix Live, and ahead of the retail wins with Tesco, eBay and Autodoc that followed over the next several months.
